Curtis Lovelace finishes his summer in style by winning the 200
breastroke at the US Open in Federal Way Washington August 3-9.
This swim caps off a fantastic summer for Lovelace. In July Curtis
came within a few tenths of a second of qualifying for the United
States World Championship team. Curtis followed that up with an
even faster performance in Washington. Lovelace won the event
with a time of 2:10.38 which broke the existing meet record. Curtis
also finished fourth in the 100 breast and sixteenth in the 200
IM.
Andrew Mitchell also had three top 16 performances for NAC at
the open. Mitchell was sixth place in the 100 fly going 53.39.
He also finished seventh in both the 100 back (56.40) and the
200 IM (2:02.57) and was 17th in the 200 back with a time 2:01.48.
Taylor Camp added two bonus final swims finishing 23rd in the
100 fly (54.75) and 24th in the 200 fly (2:03.85).
