DISCOVERY PHASE

Theme:  Fun, Fundamentals

Team Skills:  Focused, Proud


GREEN GROUP

This group focuses on teaching the fundamentals of all four strokes, as well as building strength and endurance through drills, multiple lengths, and on deck coaching. There is a strong emphasis on developing competition skills and readying the swimmers for competitive swimming. Some specific skills being taught include: legal technique in all four strokes, competitive turns, competitive starts, and an introduction to interval training. Basic dryland routines are introduced on Saturdays for 15 minutes before swimming to increase coordination and balance. The recommended age for this group is 6-8 years.

Equipment: Swimmers must have a pair of Speedo Power Swim Fins for each practice. 

Green Group Practice ScheduleGreen Group swimmers should attend 2-3 practices per week and compete in at least one swim meet per month. 



WHITE GROUP

This group refines and builds upon fundamentals while introducing more advanced drills and efficiency techniques. There is a strong emphasis on developing and refining competition skills. Some specific skills being taught will include: legal technique in all four strokes, competitive turns, competitive starts, interval training with a pace clock, and an introduction to training sets. Basic dryland routines are incorporated 2 times a week for 15-30 minutes before swimming to increase coordination and balance. The recommended age for this group is 7-9 years.

Equipment: Swimmers must have a pair of Speedo Power Swim Fins for each practice. 

White Group Practice Schedule: White Group swimmers should attend 3-4 practices per week, compete in one swim meet a month and travel to at least one away swim meet per year. 


IMAGINATION PHASE

Theme:  Goal-Setting, Competition

Team Skills: Tough, Committed


RED GROUP

This group refines and builds upon the four strokes with more advanced skills and efficiency techniques. There is a strong emphasis on stroke mechanics and refining competition skills with the addition of interval training and conditioning. Intermediate dryland routines are incorporated 3 times a week for 30 minutes to increase coordination and strength. The recommended age for this group is 8-10 years.

Equipment: Swimmers must have a pair of Speedo Power Swim Fins for each practice. 

Red Group Practice Schedule: Red Group swimmers should attend 4-5 practices per week and compete in all local swim meets and one away swim meet per season.
 

BLUE GROUP

This is the most advanced level of our age group program. In this group, swimmers will refine stroke mechanics and focus on conditioning and training consistently. Athletes focus on setting short and long term goals throughout the season in order to better understand the process of the sport. Intermediate to advanced dryland routines are incorporated 3 times a week for 30 minutes to increase coordination and strength.  The recommended age for this group is 10-12 years.

Equipment: Swimmers must have a pair of Speedo Power Swim Fins, Stroke Maker Paddles, and a mesh equipment bag for each practice. 

Blue Group Practice Schedule: Blue Group swimmers should attend 5-6 practices per week and compete in all local and away meets.


Team Fees & Monthly Billing

  • Annual Registration Fee: This is an annual, non-refundable fee to cover USA Swimming registration and insurance, subscription to Splash Magazine, team shirt, swim cap, team parties, championship gear, etc.  The registration fee is payable by credit/debit card during the online registration process.

  • Monthly Billing: Monthly training fees will be automatically billed to your account each month and swim meet entry fees will be billed immediately following each meet entered.  A Meet Operation Fee will also be billed for each NAC hosted swim meet. The funds from this fee will help to offset the hospitality cost for the meet and will range from $10-30 per meetNear the end of each month, the balance due will be emailed to each account prior to processing. All fees will be paid electronically on the 1st of the month.

  • NAC MeetCrewMeetCrew was developed to ensure adequate staffing for all of our NAC hosted swim meets.  It is a means for our families to come together as a crew of workers to support their athletes and run some of the best swim meets in the country. 

  • NAC Enrichment FundraisingThe NAC Enrichment Fundraising Program is a means for family, friends, employers and local businesses to contribute to the initiatives of the NAC Competitive Team.  All of the donated funds will go directly toward providing enrichment opportunities for NAC athletes, including team building activities and the purchase of new technology to expand instructional influence.
