The Nashville Aquatic Club looked very impressive this past weekend
distancing themselves from the competition at the Summer Sizzler
held at the Centennial Sportsplex and Indoor Sports Complex. NAC
finished over 500 points ahead of Lakeside Swim Club of Louisville
and Swim Atlanta finished a distant third.
NAC had fantastic performances from most of its swimmers but
three in particular were busy rewriting the NAC record book. Dakota
Hodgson broke Andrew Mitchells 200 fly record from 2008
with a time of 2:00.47. Annie Kyriakidis broke a couple of older
records surpassing Kim Gilberts 100 breastroke from 1979
with a time of 1:22.03 and Lauren Sikes 50 fly from 1993 with
a time of 32.46. Erika Giuse broke the 100 back record from 1981
held by Hollie Morgan, (now NAC parent Hollie Jackson), with a
time of 1:14.57.
New Summer Sizzler records were set in 11 events by NAC swimmers.
The following swimmers all have new meet records:
| Annie Kyriakidis
(50 fly, 50 breast, 50 free, 100 breast, 200 IM, 100 free) |
Dakota Hodgson (200
fly) |
| Erika Giuse (200 free, 100 back,
50 back) |
Sophie Walker (200 free relay) |
| Katie Kemp (200 free relay) |
Sophie Pilkinton (200 free relay) |
| Emma Blackwood (200 free relay) |
|
Megan Goss continued her successful summer achieving the US Junior
National time standard in the 100 breast, 400 IM, 200 breast,
100 back, 100 free, and the 800 free. Taylor Camp made the US
Junior National time standard in the 100 butterfly and Brian Bolton
achieved the standard in the 100 back.
