After a year of training with four NAC athletes who were members of the 2007-2008 USA Swimming National Junior Team (Caroline Reeves, Hayes Johnson, Curtis Lovelace, Jackson Wilcox), sixteen year old swimmer Dakota Hodgson decided he wanted to achieve the same feat. Swimming in the finals of the 200 meter Butterfly at the 2008 Junior National Championships in Minneapolis, he achieved just that, swimming to a very fast 2:01.16. The time was .03 under the automatic National Junior Team standard of 2:01.19. The swim also broke Chas Morton's 15-16 Boys Southeastern Swimming LSC record of 2:02.16 set in 1987. Hodgson also swam to a seventh place in the 100 meter Butterfly with a 55.36, just .07 off the Southeastern Record. Fellow sixteen year old Parker Camp, swam to a twenty-fourth place fin ish in the 400 meter Freestyle. Camp's 4:02.13 time from prelims was very close to the Summer National standard. NAC Top 10 all time performances were turned in by Parker Camp (2x), Dakota Hodgson (2x), Chase Lovelace (2x), Deirdre Jones (1x), and William Varley (1x), as well as the Senior Boys 400 Free Relay. In all the team qualified one swimmer for the 2008-2009 USA Swimming National Junior Team, swam to 6 USA Swimming Short Course (December) National Qualifying Times, 1 new Southeastern Swimming LSC Record, 9 NAC Top 10 All Time Performances, 5 swims placing in the Top 10 at the meet.

NAC Puts On a Record Setting Show at Tennessee High School State Championships!
Curtis Lovelace Breaks Two State Records and is Named Male Swimmer of the Year!
Jackson Wilcox Breaks State Record in 200 Free - NAC Girls Break 400 yard Freestyle Relay Record!
What a State Meet! In one of the fastest Tennessee High School State Meets in history, Nashville Aquatic Club swimmers brought the crowd to their feet on more than one occasion and set a great tone for Championship Month 2008! Curtis Lovelace swam to new Tennessee State Records in the men's 100 yard Breaststroke (54.88) and 200 yard Individual Medley (1:49.07) on his way to being named TISCA Male Swimmer of the Year. Jackson Wilcox smashed the State Record in the men's 200 yard Freestyle with his 1:37.11 effort, a time that would have placed him first in the nation in 2007. Wilcox also cruised to victory in the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 4:23.93. Jordan Slaughter added two state championships of his own, winning the 100 yard Freestyle in 45.36 and the 100 yard Butterfly in 48.26. NAC claimed victory in six of the eight men's events. On the women's side, Harpeth Hall fielded a relay of all NAC swimmers to set a new State Record in the women's 400 yard Freestyle Relay. Kellyn Angell, Samantha Williams, Grace Anne Sanderson, and Maddie Garrett touched the wall in 3:30.23, breaking the record the team missed by just .01 in 2007. Though there were no event wins for the women, NAC swimmers Kellyn Angell (100 Free & 100 Back) and Deirdre Jones (200 Free), Caroline Reeves (100 Breast) were second place finishers in individual events. Looking outside TISCA, Curtis Lovelace, Caroline Reeves, Jordan Slaughter, and Jackson Wilcox swam to National Championship Qualifying Times, while Kellyn Angell, Maddie Garrett, Dakota Hodgson, Deirdre Jones, Chase Lovelace, Jack Murfee, Alexandra Pierce, and Rebecca Senn added Junior National Qualifying Times. Jackson Wilcox's efforts in both the 200 Free and 500 Free were new Southeastern Swimming LSC Records for the 17-18 Boys Age Group. Curtris Lovelace added both a Southeastern Swimming LSC Record for 17-18 Boys and a new NAC Team Record in the 100 Breast. Jordan Slaughter's win in the 100 Fly lowered his own NAC Team Record. There was excitement all over the meet as NAC swimmers Brian Bolton, Taylor Camp, Paschall Davis, Chase Lovelace, Stephanie Pringle, and Grace Anne Sanderson made their first ever NAC Travel Team Qualifying Times and Kate Wiseman made her first Senior Southeastern Qualifying Time.
