8 & Under Girls are District West Champs!
NAC took 104 swimmers to the 2010 District
West Championship meet this past weekend in Brentwood, TN.
For some swimmers it was their final meet of the season
and for others it was a last chance to qualify for the Southeastern
Championships. The highlight of the meet was the 8 &
Under Girls taking home the Championship Trophy after a

Curtis Lovelace: Feeling No Pressure
Before he could crawl or walk
or even sit up Curtis Lovelace was in
the water. He swam his first 25-yard length of the pool
without anyone's help by the time he was 4, and by the
age of eight, he started competing year-round for a
local swim club in Old Hickory, Tenn. Despite his promise,
Larry Lovelace, Curtis' dad, never pressured his son
to be the best.

Rankings!
Annie Kyriakidis and Jackson Defore top USA Swimmings
2009 Long Course IMX rankings. IMX is a points based system
that ranks swimmers all over the Nation based on times achieved
over the course of a season. Swimmers must compete in all 4
competitive strokes and an IM event to begin earning points.

Jackson DeFore Breaks Two
National Age Group Records!!
This past weekend at the excel Fall Fest
Jackson broke two, 10 & Under National Age Group Records. The
first came in the 10 & under 100 Freestyle. NAC's own Chas Morton
held the record for 27 years until Jackson lowered the standard
from 54.74 to 54.64. Later that afternoon Adam Hinshaw's 500
Freestyle record from 2004 of 5:15.14 was broken by almost a
full second and now stands at 5:14.24. In addition to Jackson's
records, he claimed 1st in every event he competed in over the

Lovelace Wins 200 Breast At US
Open!
Curtis Lovelace finishes his summer in
style by winning the 200 breastroke at the US Open in Federal
Way Washington August 3-9. This swim caps off a fantastic
summer for Lovelace. In July Curtis came within a few tenths
of a second of qualifying for the United States World Championship
team.

NAC Men Close Season With Big Win
at Juniors!
The foursome of Parker Camp, Jarvis Werkhaven,
Dakota Hodgson, and Paschall Davis swam to victory on the
final night of the meet in the 400 Medley Relay. The meet,
hosted in Federal Way, WA, is essentially the national championships
for 18 & under swimmers.

The Nashville Aquatic Club looked
very impressive this past weekend distancing themselves from
the competition at the Summer Sizzler held at the Centennial
Sportsplex and Indoor Sports Complex. NAC finished over 500
points ahead of Lakeside Swim Club of Louisville and Swim Atlanta

NAC and the Special Olympics
of
Tennessee Partnership!
The Special Olympics of Tennessee
held its largest function of the year last weekend. The Summer
Games were held starting Friday, May 15 through Saturday,
May 16. Rich Sanderson attended the Opening Ceremonies on
Friday night and was privileged to present a check to Special
Olympics on behalf of NAC. This was a portion of the pledges
the team was so successful in collecting for the 2008 NAC
Games. Special Olympics recognized NAC’s continued support
year after year and presented NAC with a certificate of appreciation.
NAC Swimmers also volunteered for
the swimming event held at Centennial on Saturday. Over 125
special athletes participated in the swimming competition.
NAC volunteers served as Clerk of Course. This was not an
easy task considering the overwhelming excitement throughout
the day. It was an rewarding day for our volunteers Brian
Bolton, Parker Camp, the Davis brothers, Maddie Garrett, Megan
Goss, Katrina Keirns, Annie Killian, Kyra Logan, Chase Lovelace,
Allison Maher and Grace Anne Sanderson. We received numerous
compliments and thanks from coaches and parents of the athletes.
Thanks for all the help from the
volunteers at the Summer Games and the donors who gave generously
at the NAC Games.

Parker Camp Invited to Attend USA
Swimming National Select Camp!
Nashville Aquatic Club swimmer Parker
Camp has been invited to attend the 2009 USA Swimming National
Select Camp. The four day camp will be held at the United States
Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Thirty men and thirty
women from across the country were selected to be a part of this
prestigious training event. Men must have been sixteen years of
age or younger through the Summer 2008 Junior National Championships
while women had to be fourteen years of age or younger. The camp
will be held January 22-25, 2009. Congratulations Parker!
